PROMENADE TEMECULA AND SOUTHWEST HEALTHCARE SYSTEM BRING SAFETY EDUCATION TO THE COMMUNITY AT TEEN EXPO
Temecula, Calif., (April 7, 2014) – Statistics show that one in five 16-year-old drivers in their first year of driving has an accident. As distractions such as talking on the phone and texting while driving continue to increase, these statistics continue to rise. In an effort to continue to promote safety in the community and help local teens avoid preventable harm, Promenade Temecula has partnered with the Inland Valley Trauma Department of Southwest Healthcare System to hold the second annual Teen Expo on Saturday, April 19 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
“We care immensely about our community, and about helping to ensure the safety of our youth. Through this annual Teen Expo, we are able to create a fun and interactive experience for teens and families, while sharing our important message: ‘Don’t Drink and Drive, Don’t Text and Drive, and Wear Proper Safety Equipment When Riding’,” explains Kym Espinosa, Director of Marketing for Promenade Temecula.
This year’s event will feature freestyle motocross demos by Metal Mulisha riders Jimmy Fitzpatrick, Wes Agee and Brian McCarty. The Teen Expo motocross performances will take place at 1:30pm, 2:30pm and 3:30pm in the outdoor plaza, followed by a free autograph signing session with Metal Mulisha.
This free event will also offer a number of activities, demonstrations, and information stations, which the whole family can enjoy, including:
- Fox Temecula equipment show
- Manyk energy drink information station
- Great Oak High School CPR demonstration
- SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) information station
- Impact Teen Drivers information station
- XRyderz demonstration
- California Highway Patrol information station
- Cal Fire information station
- MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) vehicle demonstration
“We are excited to have partnered with so many wonderful organizations to help provide the community with essential tools to better understand how to stay safe while enjoying the activities they love,” noted Espinosa.
In addition to these activities, guests will have the opportunity to participate in a number of giveaway opportunities, including a “text to win” contest for an Apple iPad.
The Teen Expo event will take place at Promenade Temecula, in the outdoor plaza across from Edwards Regal Cinemas.
